Course Synopsis

SVQ Playwork Level 3

The SVQ in Playwork Level 3 incorporates the national occupational standards and qualification structure identified by Skills for Care and Development and is accredited by the SQA as a Scottish Vocational Qualification. The SVQ is also acceptable as a qualification for registration by the Scottish Social Services Council(SSSC), at Practitioner level.

SVQ Playwork Level 2

The SVQ in Playwork Level 2 incorporates the national occupational standards and qualification structure identified by Skills for Care and Development and is accredited by the SQA as a Scottish Vocational Qualification. This SVQ, is also acceptable as a qualification for registration by the Scottish Social Services Council(SSSC), at Support Worker level.

Introducing Playwork

This is a 15 hour course and intended for those new to working with children. It is to help you create an environment which will stimulate children's play and maximise their opportunities for a wide range of play experiences. The skilled and experienced Playworker is capable of enriching the child's play experience both in terms of the design and resources of the physical environment in the Play setting.

SVQ Children's Care, Learning & Development, Level 3

The SVQ in Children's Care learning and Development Level 3, incorporates the national occupational standards and qualification structure identified by Skills for Care and Development and is accredited by the SQA as a Scottish Vocational Qualification. This SVQ, is also acceptable as a qualification for registration by the Scottish Social Services Council(SSSC), at Practitioner level.

SVQ Children's Care, Learning & Development Level 2

The SVQ in Children's Care learning and Development Level 2, incorporates the national occupational standards and qualification structure identified by Skills for Care and Development and is accredited by the SQA as a Scottish Vocational Qualification. This SVQ, is also acceptable as a qualification for registration by the Scottish Social Services Council(SSSC) at Support Worker level.

Support the Protection of Children

This is Unit PW12-SVQ Playwork Level 3 and is aimed at adults working directly with children. It is recommended that adults should have an appropriate level of training in child protection and be familiar with procedures for dealing with suspected abuse. The course duration is two days and is also acceptable for CPD purposes.

People Handling and Risk Assessment

The aim of this two day course is to provide delegates with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to correct moving and handling procedures appropriate to their individual working environments. The course is endorsed by the Association of Occupational Therapists.
